Windermere Country Club, in the charming and secluded town of Windermere, FL, was founded in 1986 by a dozen former members of the famed Bay Hill Golf Club in near Orlando, FL. They wanted a club that provided more exclusivity and privacy not afforded at the busy resort course. In 2010, Jemsek Golf Design, was hired to renovate the golf course as part of a multi-million dollar improvement project. Completed during the summer of 2010, JGD installed new sub-surface drainage and replanted the greens with Tif-Eagle Bermuda grass. Additionally the greenside bunkers were redesigned to enhance the aesthetic appeal and playability. The course reopened in October 2010.
